I never watched the first Puss in Boots movie. Thought that I'm disinterested in the movie just that I never got around to it. I found myself bored one day and decided to give the last wish a go. I always found these movies entertaining and enjoyable. But my God hooked within the first 12 minutes of the movie. I've always been the type that's drawn in by good characters and a sucker for a good villain and the movie has two of them. Puss in Boots and his tag team, and the B characters are all done wonderfully. But the villains drive this movies narrative forward, and give everything in the movie weight which makes the lessons in the movie impactful. The number one thing that has made me watch this movie over and over is the big bad wolf. His whistle, how well the character is done stylistically, and the voice acting is top tier. The saddest part is how little the character is on the screen, but his presence is felt throughout the movie never leaving the back of your mind waiting for his next appearance. I hope in the future we get to see more of this character as it would truly be a shame to put him back on the shelf for good. 10/10 Truly a modern kid classic.

The animation is bad... The first "bad guy" morphs into a warewolf like chimaera but looks horrible. Almost cartoonish. Most characters lack detail something the old Fullmetal Alchemist succeeded in very well. The landscape, action scenes and things of that sort look just fine along with Ed and Al. The story is a disappointment. Not much to say here other than it was lack luster and boring. A continuation of shambala of Ed and Al getting back home would have been a much better watch which was also a continuation of the series where this is more like a non cannon spin-off. Wish they would have done better.
