There was no real synchronicity between the og movies and this reboot. There was so much potential but I don’t think it will live up the Scream movies legacy
Not that great. Storylines were weak. I was expecting a stronger link between the two movies that connected via the original murderer. Like a lineage. Making one of the OG turned mad and into a serial killer didn’t work. Freddie just didn’t pull it off. His acting was too one dimensional, he didn’t really portray that switch flicked. This should be a lesson that just because you can return to a reboot doesn’t mean you should. Some actors need to know when it’s time to retire and quit acting or go work on a soap opera or something
I suspect the reason they made Freddie and Jenifer’s characters divorced was due to their feud. Would have worked better and more polarizing acting if it showed them happily married then turned
The dream sequence with Sarah Michelle Gellar could have worked if it was embedded more into the storylines with the inner turmoil Danica was facing. It really seemed like an after thought scene to give Sarah Michelle Gellar screen time. The art direction was good in this scene I’ll admit, but the acting fell very very flat.
Jenifer Love Hewitt was underutilized. Maybe if she featured a bit more the movie could have been redeemed,

Having said all that I might actually watch the sequel as it seems JLH will have a more prominent role with Brandy. They have good screen chemistry together
