Frankly a little disappointed after seeing first 2 episodes. I am a big fan of the original series and cast. The main objective in the series was to showcase the intelligence of these women and create a detective series driven by women, in a post war setting.
But the new series seems to get distracted from the key elements. Social justice was never the premise here and its quite unbelievable that a black woman was a Major who broke codes in the war(especially after seeing "Hidden Figures").I don't think the viewers of "The Bletchley Circle" signed up to watch a TV series on racial equality, rights etc. That's a different genre and the whole series is being strangled by wrong priorities. I really miss Sophie Rundle, who had a natural naivety, which seems quite put on in her replacement and prefer Hattie Morahan over Crystal Balint..
