The protagonist (we assume this represents the filmmaker's point of view) seems to have such disdain for her parents and any aunties. Such generalization of the Indian culture abroad is shallow, dehumanizing and not worth the forced epiphany that the mother was a feminist. Very superficial and opiniated, and not even informed about the real Indian people. Which hostess for instance, hands out samosas with that smile in this century in USA- please have u even been to an Indian party? The film shows no knowledge or compassion towards Indian culture abroad.
