One line review : if you are fan of previous Star Trek stories like Original, Next Generation and DS9 then you will hate this. If you ask “why?” Then read below Reason to watch : 1. Good visual effects. 2. Some characters are good like Pike, Spock and Philippa. Reasons to avoid : 1. Every single episode(watched 3 seasons) revolves around only one person Michael Burnham(Human half sister of Spock). And she is a Cry Baby (yes, a crying Vulcan, she does that in almost all the episodes) 2. Emotional blunder, too much hugging and crying(yes, other characters too). 3. No character development, most of the crew members are like NPC, they are stuck on the bridge(or engineering) and only lead characters alone goes on the mission. Even if someone accompanies they fail to reach the final scene for some or the other reason. 4. Main character is always right, she will break all the rules and chain of commands and somehow manages to win. 5. Dialogue writing is really poor, no humour at all. 6. Twisted story, it doesn’t feel like it’s a Star Trek cannon. 7. Politically influenced (yes, you will find some recent affairs too) 8. Worst of all Klingons, no accuracy in their characters compared to previous stories, they end up sidelined very quickly. 9. Some scenes are unnecessary stretched.
