Baki is all the worst tropes of anime. One dimensional characters, familliar premises, clunky expositiona and too self-serious to justify the goofy violence. Worst of all the narrative and artistic style shift dramatically. Fight scenes will suddenly be narrated by a bro-y cop and shift between 3D and traditional art styles. There's no cohesive thread through the entire thing.
