Watched the movie today with my 5 year old daughter and wife and we all enjoyed it. I love how they didn’t change to much things in the movie that made the original such a classic but they inserted new songs and scenes that made sense and was not added in just for fillers.
I know there will be viewers who will inevitably find something to complain and dislike about this movie and that’s their choice, if you didn’t like the plot the acting the casting then you are within your right to voice your opinion about it but if you are complaining just because of the inclusion of more diverse casting over a fictional movie about mermaids, sea witches and princes then you got to much time on your hands and to much hate and ego in your hearts. I am Asian my wife is black I did not care that the only major asian representation in the film was a talking CGI bird, that doesn’t make or break my existence. I loved the film because my daughter and wife saw somebody on screen that looks like them and they can relate to. That makes me happy for any group not just myself. Perhaps people should start looking at these things as a collective instead of a zero sum game in which one group always has to lose out.. My two cents, go watch this movie and enjoy it!
