I knew within the first few moments that this wasn't going to be an accurate portrayal of the Biblical narrative, but decided to keep watching and see how it played out. Like so many screen adaptations of literature, license was taken to fit the format of episodic video. I felt these changes, though veering quite a bit from Scripture, did a good job at portraying the personalities and motivations of the major characters. (As an aside, I did not feel the adaptation of "Wheel of Time" for video was done as well as the adaptation of "The Last Kingdom.") Once I put aside my annoyance at Biblical inaccuracy, I was able to thoroughly enjoy "House of David" for what it is. I wouldn't recommend using the video to teach Sunday School, but it is very well written, acted and produced entertainment. I am looking forward to season 2, and have recommended the series to family and friends.
