I feel the need to write this review so that a wrong can be corrected.
I loved Overwatch (one), played it for 3-4 years then occasionally went back to play it. Always a good and fun game. But I really don't understand what Overwatch 2 is, not referring to invasion/story since I haven't really touched it, but multiplayer. First of all, you make the game free which is nice, but then you remove the lootbox system and add a battle pass and a store for skins. When Overwatch starts getting repetitive at times the loot boxes were the thing that got me playing, therefore I don't see how I could play Overwatch 2 long-term as a main game. The second major thing I found to be a major issue is bots in my competitive game - why? It takes all the joy of what is supposed to be a high-stakes game, cause you got clueless bots instead. I just don't understand how you make a sequel game (or replace the first one) and it is so much worse. The core game is the same, but it's like they used an entirely different vision board.
This is my opinion regarding Overwatch 2. Play it if you want and if you're fine with the changes, the gameplay is still the same (which is not bad) but Overwatch (original) is the only Overwatch I can recognize, I don't think Overwatch 2 was executed correctly.
Looking back I can tell Overwatch was made with the players in mind, and that is why it was such a good game. But all I can see from Overwatch 2 is that money is the goal. Obviously, the creators can do what they want, but I can no longer care for this game, it is such a shame
