I'm from the area where this happened. It wasn't even filmed in NM. Either way they should have at least employed some real New Mexicans. The street talk sounded so phony. None of the scenes were believable. They could have done much better.

Love this movie! A darkly romantic love story.

They could have gotten an actress who would have at least attempted an American accent, that was annoying. The Delia character was completely unlikeable, mean and nasty even to people who were nice to her, especially her 2nd boyfriend, I felt sorry for that guy. She acted like the world owed her everything even before she was attacked. Shouldn't the viewer at least feel sympathy for the victim? Not so in this series......

This was a good, spooky horror film. The lead actors were excellent.

I like this movie. There are several good scenes and good acting by Patti D'Arbanville and a much too short scene with an excellent Viggo Mortenson. As for the main characters, neither of them are saints, there is no good one & bad one. Matt meets Jewel, but always has the air that he is above her and better than her. She is much more complex because you can never figure out what is truth or lies with her. If what she says is true, she has been horribly abused by every man in her life. Doug Hutchinson plays a slimy character Sproles who's brother is an undercover cop and knows about all the people who hang out at this country party house. Sproles gives all the dirt on Jewel to Matt's best friend Tipton. Matt doesn't want to believe any of it. There are some confusing scenes, especially at the end where Jewel is hollering at Matt saying she heard the truth. I guess we are supposed to read between the lines? Basically, the bottom line, is they both use each other for their own purposes. Beautiful cinematography.

A very clever and watchable film. The actors were great and the storyline was very mysterious without being too confusing.

This is one of those movies you wish you never watched. I get frustrated with movies where people don't fight back, especially when the attackers are only armed with a golf club. Skip this movie and do something better with your time.

If you go in comparing this film to Tombstone, it will be a mistake. Wyatt Earp goes through Wyatt's entire life vs. Tombstone focusing solely on the time the Earp's spent in Tombstone. Wyatt Earp is more on a human emotion level, showing family dissension and confrontations between Wyatt and Mattie about Josie. Dennis Quaid is an excellent Doc Holliday. It is very long but it is very much worth a watch.

I grew up in small town New Mexico, this film gets it just right. One of my absolute favorites!

I have always liked this movie. The signs happen kind of quickly and very literally, but it is a very watchable film. (Demi's character is quite nosy, letting herself in to the boarder's apartment and rifling through his things)
