With a surplus of superhero movie availability and Dwayne Johnson’s overexposure as an actor, ’Black Adam’ is certainly nothing new. So many A-list celebrities have their own superhero movies now, and it was only inevitable Dwayne would have his turn. But because he plays pretty much the same person in nearly every movie he’s in, it actually feels like less of a film and more like The Rock in cosplay. Sure, it’s entertaining, as the special effects are abundant and exhilarating. But the actual story leaves much to be desired. If you watch with reasonable expectations, you won’t be disappointed.
