First of all, I love a bad movie every now and then to laugh at and bask in its irony. But this one was a real struggle to get through. Here’s just a summarized list of some of the HIGHLIGHTS of this film.
-Tired, uninspired acting (Noah Centineo is the ONLY one trying to keep the movie together).
-Drawn out, overly cheesy, overly forced, overly everything scriptwriting and scene/character dynamic.
-The cinematography I could go on FOREVER about. The editing, lighting, and camerawork are so messy and don’t make any sense. Reminded my friends and I of low budget porn (which at times some scenes convinced us that it would turn into one, especially with the awkward acting).
-There were just some weird scenes and character actions that would happen throughout the movie which were nonsensical and confusing. SO many plot holes. Also, the objective to reverse misogyny and abuse of technology was never actually reached in the end.
- Some characters would be introduced and then never appeared again, every character and scene was shallow, no one went through character development, and was there even a climax? (the story moved soooo slowly until the last 5 minutes of the movie when the characters finally “changed for the better”)
Longest hour and a half of my life. I would continue with the list but then this review would never end. I’m no film expert but then again anyone can point out the endless flaws in this film. And this movie wasn’t even trying to be satirical or ironic! If I came across this movie on a dating app, I would swipe left (get it?) Nice try, Netflix.
