What a great show. A couple of episodes in the middle had boring parts but overall it is a real stand out. The costumes are beautiful and so well designed. The fabrics look very expensive. The sets and interiors are lush. And, the dialogue is super, especially Christine Baranski‘s. She delivers it so well. Cynthia Nixon plays the spinster so well. But also such a loving person.
I am so glad they also show a black family as part of the story. It would have been a lot less interesting without them. It sort of bends your mind seeing a black young woman intertwined (Peggy) with such snobby white people. Denée Benton who plays Peggy is an amazing actor. I never knew of her before but have since learned what a seasoned performer she is. I’ll definitely look for her in other roles. Her face lights up the screen.
