This game is a home run. With the story of a brother and sister’s love, the story telling in this game is stellar, and enthralling with its artistic scenes, symbolism, characters, and development throughout the entire play through— it keeps you going and wanting more. I found myself sniffling or gasping in some cases with the scenes, and how they capture the relationships with each character in their own environment. I like saying when you start getting mad, upset, happy, or annoyed (etc) with a character, that’s when you know that they’re doing their jobs— and doing it good. for that matter! Hands down to the VAs as well, because… just wow!!
I absolutely adore how many creative hands dipped into the pot— whether it is the music, character design, world design, script writing, everything visual about this game is stunning!
What I have noticed, is that this game is HEAVILY stealth based, there really are no options to plow through and fight, and your main weapon is a sling (with my prideful trigger fingers, this was a slight bummer, but patience is a virtue)! I had fun, but there were some frustrating parts; Game play, outside of the scenes—GP was the same for about 90% of the game. Run through a bush, kill someone with a rock, repeat for every single chapter until the last 5, I certainly found myself bored a handful of times, but then I would get snatched back up by a scene, do the same thing, and fall back down the rabbit hole. If there was a little more diversity when it came to gameplay styles, I would certainly give this game five stars, but unfortunately it didn’t cut it for me.
Essentially,
Game play: 3.8/5
Story Telling: 5/5
Graphics: 4.8/5 (I played on the Xbox series S console)
Would I recommend this game to a friend?
For sure!!!
