I have only ever seen Kelsey Asbille is Yellowstone and she is my least favorite character. She is stiff and emotionless in Yellowstone. Obviously she has a reason to be stiff and emotionless in this movie but it didn’t make it any less annoying. The previews show that she is on a countdown after being injected. I thought that sounded like it would be nonstop thrills and terror losing all of your motor functions in 20 minutes. Oddly I wasn’t prepared for the entire movie to be her crawling, gasping, grunting and dragging. I am 35 minutes in and that is literally all that is happening. There is an entire long excruciating hour left of this movie. Instead of the suspense I was expecting I am waiting for it to end. Not sure I will be able to stick it out.

I’m not really sure why Judy Justice was created. Essentially this is the format of Judge Judy with changes that frankly bring nothing additional to the program. She has a different hairstyle and a different colored robe. She starts out with a smile & you can tell she tries to have more patience than she did on Judge Judy. That lasts about 2 minutes. Her granddaughter Sarah Rose just sits there. The only time that she does more than blink is if Judge Judy asks her to look up the blue book value on a car. Then at the end of each episode Judy tries to explain the case heard that day to Sarah who dutifully nods her head in agreement with everything Judge Judy says. The court reporter is obviously a new edition to the show. She actually does a job the whole show unlike Sarah who again just sits. Every so often Judy will ask the court reporter specifically what the plaintiff or defendant testified to. What is funny about it is that Judy tells her word for word what they said so the court reporter can look it up. Another new face really not needed. I can’t deny that Judy still possess a knack for remembering what someone says. Now to the new bailiff. I have nothing against him. He smiles and seems like a genuinely pleasant person to be around. So my problem isn’t with him specifically. My issue is the way Officer Byrd was done. I never thought I would miss his grimace and watching him doodle every case on his trusty clipboard but I do. Officer Byrd who has been Judy’s side kick for decades didn’t even get a courtesy “You’re fired” or “We are going in a new direction”. That is from his perspective. What is more heartless is the fact that Byrd’s wife was battling brain cancer and he was taking care of her. And she knew that and didn’t even give him the courtesy of letting him know. Was I a huge die hard fan of Byrd? No. But I am a fan of treating people with courtesy, respect and kindness. Especially if you call them a friend for decades.

I had just watched “The Act” and wanted to watch a similar movie. This was the movie suggested. It moves painfully slow for the first hour and a half. It doesn’t start picking up until the last 10 minutes. Unfortunately it wasn’t enough to save the movie for me. Normally I love Sarah Paulson in movies but even she couldn’t make this a winner. The acting and script felt lazy. ***SPOILERS BELOW*** One example would be that the mother locked her daughter in the bedroom. She is in a wheelchair so she obviously can’t kick the door down. She takes her blood sugar and it’s low. So out of nowhere she brings out a meat and three plate that she busily scarfs down. Where did it come from? Under her bed, under her pillow? She just happens to have a meal, a plate and a fork just in case she needs a snacky snack while locked in her room? Not for me. Hard pass. This is one of those movies that made me feel like I wasted time trying to see if it ever got better and was worthy of the positive reviews. It didn’t. And it isn’t.

I wanted to love this movie but it was painstakingly slow. I kept waiting for something anything to happen that would make the movie better. Casey Affleck’s very slow and methodical voice was a hindrance to feeling like this was dragged out for far too long. The film was almost too dark to see what was happening at all times. I’m sure the darkness was to create some ambience but it missed the mark. This is one of those movies that you regret sitting through. It is very boring and quite honestly hard to watch. The plot sounded great unfortunately it couldn’t save this movie.

I am not a huge Casey Affleck fan and I was going to skip this movie based on that opinion. I am very glad that I watched it anyway. Gone Baby Gone is an in depth look at child abductions, parental neglect and addiction. The cast were amazing in their character portrayals. The little girl that plays Amanda is one of the cutest kids I think I’ve ever seen. Casey Affleck’s voice still grates on my nerves but there is no doubt that he is a excellent and talented actor. This movie is a must see. There are a few twists that you won’t see coming.

I am an old school Sims player, playing the very first Sims from so long ago, bought every expansion pack as soon as it was released. I recommended the game to everyone that I met. How can I hate the Sims 4 with great intensity? First of all, I bought it for my PS4. BIG mistake! The controls are janky and there is literally no tutorial to tell you which controls do what. I have a very large TV but the print is so tiny you can barely read it. You have to get very close to the screen just to make it out. I spent hours on the Create a Sim page because the controls are horrific and there is nothing that helps you move the process along. The Sims have gone downhill rapidly and it has changed so much. What hasn’t changed is the tons of expansion packs that are available at super inflated prices. Definitely not buying those because the base game is horrible. I just can’t get past all of the glaring issues. Makes me sad.

Wow! This is a must see movie! I had wanted to watch it for awhile now & I had some time to pass. This was so much more than a “time to pass” kind of movie. Emilia Jones as Ruby Rossi could not have been better cast. She is beautiful, endearing and extremely talented. Her singing is simply flawless. Marlee Matlin as her mother was exceptional as always. The father played by Troy Kotsur was brilliant. Even the music teacher was perfectly cast. I expected this to be a very informative movie and it was. What I did not expect is how many times I laughed until tears were streaming down my face. I have not seen a movie this well rounded with such a great cast in years. Definitely check this movie out if you haven’t already. Just this movie made the Apple TV+ subscription worth it!

Charlie Hunnam is one of my favorite actors. I would watch any movie starring Charlie. My issue with this movie is that it is VERY slow paced. It was interesting to see the dynamics between inmates and guards. When you watch the movie and remember that this is based on a true story, remake or not, that makes it a compelling enough to watch. I have never seen the original Papillon so I can’t honestly compare the original to the remake. I found myself rooting for Papi the whole movie. And, quite frankly I wanted to punch the guards. Especially, the warden.

I love Jennifer Lopez and usually enjoy her movies. I was excited when I saw that this was released on Netflix. The first 10-15 minutes I honestly thought that this would be an action packed movie. It is slow in parts. The actress playing the daughter wasn’t very good unfortunately so most of the scenes with her were pretty unbelievable. What I wasn’t prepared for was how much I grew to dislike Jennifer Lopez’s character. Listen I get it, she is a war vet assassin. Maybe it’s the mom side of me but it would have been nice to see any emotional connection with her daughter or an ounce of compassion for her. A good majority of the movie is the daughter asking questions that she deserves to know and the mother refusing to answer them or answering in a two word format that doesn’t actually answer the question at all. It’s one of those movies that you keep watching in the hopes that it improves and gets better. Oddly the only times I enjoyed the movie was when it was Jennifer Lopez on her own or with the FBI agent fighting the bad guys. I did not enjoy the back and forth between the Mother and the Daughter and since that’s supposed to be the focus of the movie I come away feeling dissatisfied.Until the last few minutes of the movie, I wish it had all been touching like that.
