I really and truly loved this drama as I did with Eternal Love and the Flame’s Daughter. However the true love story between Ning Yi and Feng Zhiwei was heartbreaking to say the least. Sat with a tissue box through many scenes and the ones that really broke my heart was when he went to pay his respects to her after the passing of her mother and brother (which was a part of the brother’s fault I might add) and they way he held her and turn to walk away with them both in heartbreak but typical loyalty between the two of them he didn’t leave her to face it alone as he was standing in the rain to assist her in covering up the casket and them promising to wait for each other. I hope they do a Season 2 where she doesn’t die and he finds her and nurses her back to life which is what they do for each other and are able to live together as husband and wife with no interference for a few years in order to have the family they wanted. I think they would have been ok if she weren’t so determined to see Ning Yi’s father to voice her opinion at the end. But his nastiness just wouldn’t let his son be happy just because he didn’t. I also think that her mother was miserable as well and blamed Ning Yi unjustly simply because he was an 8 year old child doing his father’s bidding as instructed which also led to this girls unhappiness and heartbreak. But whoever writer this novel that this series is built on did a wonderful job but please do so adaptations and let them be happy because they truly deserve it.
