I'm partial to any story that involves Vatican intrigue.....and this certainly did.

Depressingly slow. In four episodes the story has gone nowhere. Unlike the colorful and captivating original Bridgerton, Queen Charlotte is a dud...so far. It's true that the madness of King George is a difficult subject ...but yeesh, let's lighten up folks. There are some good actors here. Give them a chance to infuse some levity and Bridgerton-esque pizazz into this show.

Creative. Ingenious. Beyond imaginative.

In a complicated and sometimes sad way this is a feel good show, with complex characters and an exceptional lead who really doesn't need to say anything at all....just look at the camera. Finally, a period piece set in the 50s/60s that isn't cheesy. And by the way, you don't need to know anything about chess to enjoy this brilliant show.

Fun subject, the annual European song contest, which can be funny to Americans without trying. But as usual, Will Ferrell's movies go beyond the joke into unnecessary ridiculousness. I'm just not a fan....never was. But the other performances by Rachel McAdams, Dan Stevens (bizarre choice for him after Downton Abbey) and even Pierce Bronson were all quite enjoyable. I also liked the trip through the world of Eurovision...the production, the idiosyncrasies of the singers, the parties and the actual contest itself. Fun music.... especially the song-along scene, and the the Icelandic scenery never disappoints. C+
