The Outlook on prejudice in those days differed in each state and culture..the m9vie starts by showing how even the state of New York had severe predjudice which could be understood as ignorance..now black or white didn't overcome civil obscurity. Both can be trashy or haughty. This movie takes two different people with personally different crippled lives and makes a lesson of the joys of growth of the mind and heart..a truly spectacular film of warmth and pain of our souls
