When watching the trailer, one might think that The Menu is some kind of thriller survival story with food as an extra theme. Oh my you are so wrong when you really started watching the movie. It started with a young couple and 7 other people gathering at a jetty for a direct boat to Hawthorne, a super exclusive restaurant lead by Julian Slovik on a private island. Once there, you will find the staffs a bit weird offset by beautiful scenery around the island and the restaurant itself. When the dinner begins, you will be fascinated by the food presented but over time, you will start noticing that everything are so wrong at this place but it will be too late by that time. Hoho. If you expect hardcore gore, heavy thriller or action scene, don't expect them from The Menu. It is perfect for those avid gore goer to relax and watch a soft or light kind of gore and thriller. The fan of Anya Taylor from The Queen's Gambit can expect to smile watching her awesome character and not to forget, our celebrity chef acted by Ralph Fiennes or rather famous as Lord Voldemort. The in depth or background of characters were not really portrayed well hence most people would not be able to sympathize with them especially at the part where they all died. Overall, The Menu can provide us with a different kind of watching experience and entertaining moment with light thriller and absolutely amazing Cheese Burger! 4 out of 5!
