I read this book back in 6th grade. Well, I LISTENED to it. Anyway I fell in love with it. Reading it again as an adult is nostalgic, reminding me of simpler, kinder, more carefree times. Ida Early is hilarious, and the narrator who read the audio version did it perfectly (I would cast her as Ida Early in an audiodrama by the same title.) She really demonstrates true child-educating skill, always inherently knowing what to do and how to relate to the two older children and the twins. She has an uncanny ability to get people to cooperate with her, and Aunt Earnestine just bosses everyone around. Aunt Earnestine is comical because her presence contrasts sharply with Ida's. Where exactly did Ida Earley come from? I have NO idea. But anyway, I leave that for you to decide
