Controls:
I can see what they were trying to do here. I just don’t think they have executed it quite right. I do like how you can style out your tricks by keeping control of your legs even when the board is spinning, and your input can slow/speed up your tricks but other than that it’s just EA skate with both analogues (more or less)
Graphics:
Not there. I can forgive graphics when there are other strong points but I am yet to find them to be honest.
Maps:
Boring.
Overall experience:
Despite what I have said it is still kinda fun, but I don’t think it would be fun for that long. it’s not the evolution of skateboarding games I was hoping for.
Sorry Easy Day Studios, I really am. Don’t give up! The game still has potential, just feels like the release date was a bit ambitious.
P.s. to anyone still reading my long old review I have played the Session demo on Xbox and honestly it’s way better. This is coming from a skateboarder over 15 years.. The graphics are just as bad in session but the controls are genius. You have a lot more control, including adjustments in the settings for difficulty & I’m talking to the smallest detail. Huge learning curve which makes it very rewarding & it’s kinda nice to know it’s just a beta and the full version should be far more of a finished product feeling game.
Oh and also, EA can get f**ked.. too little too late. Skate 4 can get lost and The EA skate controls will forever just feel as arcade as thps to me now after getting used to Session.
