TO ANYONE WHO LEAVES A UNSATISFACTORY REVIEW ON THE FILM: You have completely missed the true symbolic meaning that the film portrays and are exactly what the film warns about society today.
The true idea of this film was not to provide a comedic, thriller, and horror screenplay about a so called "menu", but rather to portray the satirical idea of the greed in society. The movie distinguishes what we consider the jump between a "lower-class" and a "higher-class" of people. As we know, money is what defies us all in the world we live in today. This film truly explains this theory as it conveys a philosophical take on the self-indulgence and excessive wealth of people through its screenplay. It tells the customers who order from the menu to "taste", rather than to "eat". Those of higher wealth see themselves as "elite", and expect the service and catering to be of exact quality. Those of a lower-class in society are happy to be served of what they can, and do not set high expectations. The film uses food to convey this idea by showing the ones who value themselves humbly will truly, and only, be the ones that understand what it means to "taste", and not to "eat".
In conclusion, if you feel as if the movie has left you confused (or rather unsatisfied), through its various takes on the embellishment of the classes in society and self-indulgence, than maybe you truly are the customer who only decides to "eat", and not to "taste".
