I took my mum to see Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy tonight. I was finishing high school when we saw the first one. Now Iโm a mum myself. I wasnโt sure what to expect after Bridget Jones Baby because that one just didnโt work - especially with how much they changed it from the book - but I felt positive because Hugh Grant was back, and Leo Woodall has mesmerised in each show I saw him in (White Lotus, One Day, Vampire Academy). From the first scene of this movie I knew it was good. I havenโt laughed so much at a new romcom in years - both mum and I laughed, we cried and we laughed again. Lots of call backs without being too cheesy - they gave a proper tribute to all the cast, and lowered the Bridget Jones ridiculous factor to believable amounts which really helped the watchability. It was such a great film. Hugh Grant was fantastic, so was Renee and Leo and all the cast. Anyone who loved the original is sure to be really satisfied with this finale movie ๐โฅ๏ธ
