An excellent show up to season 4. The first two seasons were the best with a novel storyline and excellent character development. Seasons 3 & 4, while still good, became more of a commercial and drawn out effort to milk the commercial and artistic success of the first two seasons, while season 5 is just and over the top bang-bang adrenaline rush that requires the audience to overdose on their suspension of disbelief to be able to partially digest it.
The anti establishment theme that runs through this series resonates with the audience through an odd Robin Hood like idealism, which transforms criminals into beloved revolutionaries -- agents of social change and manifestations of populist anger.
I love Spain and Spanish people, so I am willing to cut them some slack and will still watch part 2 of season 5 when it comes out in December of 2021.
