Despite the many critiques encircling this book since it was written, it is undeniable that it was a testament to its time. Harper lee conveys the injustice, darkness and the racism of the 1930's through the eyes of an innocent child, Scout. This story was moving, provoking my emotions and making me feel what the characters felt. I have no personal problems with this book however, I am able to understand those who do suggest strong feelings against it. The beauty which Lee brings to a terrible and dark situation is prevalent through the innocent and fresh eyes of children, making this story all the more interesting and embracing new perspectives on the world.
