Well shot, with beautiful photography and exceptional acting by Jason Mamoa, Christian Camargo, Sylvia Hoeks, and Tom Mison.
However, you can't escape from blind people walking around 70% of the show not providing the best entertainment. The acting of the children is unfortunately disappointing, especially from the actress that played Haniwa.
Having Baba Voss dying a martyr was a great idea, but the way it happened was unnecessary and unrealistic. Enemies kept multiplying and ridiculously exceeding the original number and you would have thought that the battle was supposed to be pretty much secured after killing ~150 people and the two leaders anyway, making the sacrifice not at all required. Moreover, the explosion would have killed absolutely everyone. It was a small camp from the wide shot and somehow 100 bombs exploding does not hurt anyone on the good side. Not even Haniwa, that was at shooting distance from the epicenter.
Koffun's ending in the show is simply unbelievably idiotic. Nothing more to say there apart from it maybe going in line with the horrendous writing of the character.
Worth the watch for Jason's gore fight scenes, but honestly mostly a waste of time apart from that. If it wasn't for him and the great acting of the ones I mentioned at the start, this would have been a solid 1 star show.
