Don't get my review wrong, it's not a bad movie, but it was portrayed to be something that it's not. Overall it's a fair movie that has an "interesting" take on the extraterrestrial genre. It's not an incredibly different take that hasn't been thought up before, but that's neither here nor there. Think "The Village" by M. Knight Shamalan (I'm sure I've spelt that incorrectly).
The only reason I've rated it 1 star instead of 2 is due to the "5 star movie watching professionals" explaining how "[anyone whom does not love the incredible, thought-provoking, nuanced re-imagining of this beautiful cinema, must be a fool that doesn't understand an artist's profound vision.]" Seriously... There's a review saying almost exactly that. Gotta keep it realistically rated
Anyway, if you like "The Village" and how that was advertised as "scary"... You'll like this. Or if you want to watch a sub interesting take on extraterrestrial life forms that might give some fair conversation afterwards, movie theaters are pretty inventorying right now...
