The story is intriguing... in the beginning. However, as the story progresses every episode, the predictability of the scenes are becoming more and more apparent to the viewer as they introduce more characters. It's overladen with archetypal characters (the mean Queen, the loyal henchman, the seer, children separated at birth, the herculean protagonist with hubris, the traitor etc.) which contributes to predictable expositions and narrative.
Also, there are some explicit scenes that need not be there ("prayer of Queen Kane", "the festival" etc.) because they don't help build the story in any way. It gives the critical viewer an impression that they are there to "sell sex" only. It's following the trail of GoT which shouldn't be the case. The series would be good without them.
The setting though is remarkable. Hopefully it's not purely CGI coz it transports the viewer to that post-apocalyptic era with such vivid imagery and feels.
I just wish they wouldn't do what other series had done before. They should create trademark plot, narrative, dialogue, scene whatever that will hook the viewers and not only be enthralled by what they SEE, but what they FEEL as well.
