This movie was so bad. Octavia Spencer's performance was great, as always, but that alone does not save the film from it's very poor writing, weak supporting characters, and sloppy camera work. The same around-the-corner angles were used multiple times, despite being ineffective. The script was weak, inconsistent, and unrealistic, almost as if the producers decided they wanted Spencer in a role like this, and just threw the screenplay together around that decision. I can see how some moviegoers might find the film mildly entertaining, but I found myself eagerly awaiting the film's end. In my opinion, this is yet another example of Blumhouse's monthly blunders.
