Just finished my first playthrough of Veilguard and earnestly and honestly enjoyed my experience.
I love the evolution of the lore and the fresh perspective on the stories we learned from the first three games.
I enjoyed getting to know and use all of the characters and the different combos you can pull off with them in combat.
While it lacks the technical and strategy elements of combat from previous entries, the new system is fast and exciting, and with infinite free respecs to your talents and tons of weapons you can craft all sorts of cool builds.
Overall I enjoyed the experience very much, as I have all of the other Dragon Age entries prior.
A have a few small criticisms (this is certainly not a 5/5 game)
The hands on the hips pose looks goofy AF as a default stance in conversations. Nobody actually stands like that and it took me out of a couple of scenes.
I still dislike the conversation options being often misleading to what's actually going to be said- this has bugged me since Dragon Age 2.
Other than a few small gripes, I had an absolute blast in my 65 hours of playtime and WILL be playing through again.
Oh, also you can pet the dogs and cats, so, game of the year <3
