Some great special effects and creative takes on the Santa legend. Not a kids movie. And some scenes dragged down the overall upbeat pacing. And the story seemed written just to let the cast and crew travel to exotic locations instead of really meshing with the story. The scenes of Santa delivering on Christmas were the best part of the movie. Loved the Polar Bear named Garcia (an homage to Dwayne Johnson’s ex and current producing partner?) and other diverse members of E.L.F. Overall, a pleasant movie,

SPOILERS. I love the Fantastic Beasts movies and I did like this one. But, the plot was a little muddled, especially with the storyline to keep Grindelwald confused. That whole plot line could have been eliminated to better serve the story. Also, There were just too many story lines introduced yet barely examined that it feels incomplete. Especially around Dumbledore’s family and it’s history. Even with Johnny Depp’s legal issues, I still think this movie would have been better served had he continued as Grindelwald. I do love seeing Newt and Theseus together. The sets are awesome. Despite some failings, I still loved going into the wizarding world.

Better than a lot of the DC movies. Maybe one of the best. Ezra Miller is excellent. The story is strong. The special effects are great. The cameos are fun. Lots of humor. If you’re into super hero movies (and I am) you should see it.
