This is definitely one of their best albums. James Hetfield does an excellent job on vocals and has expanded his vocal style. He created in himself a new way of singing.
Kirk demonstrated amazing musicianship. His solos took me on twists and turns. It's classic Metallica, but a lot more polished. Kirk pulls some new tricks out his hat.
Trujillo should kept Lars away from the mixing board.
Lars did an excellent job on the drums, with a wide variety of fills and beats. He added a lot of power to his drums.
The band overall added outside influences and new ideas to the songwriting process. The result is music that will last. There is just too much in this album to write about it in a single post.
I felt the lyrics spoke to me personally. They were very deep and meaningful.
This is definitely going in my playlist.
This album was quite finely crafted, demonstrating true craftsmanship. James Hetfield has never sounded better.
