I remember my first watch of this movie, with no prior knowledge of what the film was about, the first half-hour into it thinking "Oh my God how was this not canceled." From a blind approach the humor seemed very dark and grotesque, but soon after it became clear where the story was heading. This movie left me in tears... twice over. I would absolutely recommend JoJo Rabbit to anyone interested.
