I’d be curious to the one star reviews, tell me a good movie that came out this year I should watch. This went old school for me where every action sequence I was like, “yeah, that could happen”. One exception was the cars finding each other at the end, but I digress. Everyone else’s reviews are spot on, including the poor ones. Yes it’s messy, and long, but it isn’t inevitable as so many films tend to be. Most movies, just watch the trailer, you’ve seen the movie. Not here. Does it portray sympathy for undocumented migrants? Yes. But not in a glorified manner. They are human, just like you, they just happened to be born on a different side of a line drawn hundreds of years ago. The ones portrayed here seemed more interested in developing a life here than running fentanyl. Yes, some of those peaceful “want to make a better life” do exist, and those are ones portrayed in the film. The acting was great, not over the top, yes the music was jangly and disconcerting at times, intentionally. Watch it, and take it for what it is, instead of trying to determine exactly how you should be offended.
