Relatively well acted, well executed audio and video, but misguided political pandering. Pretending that Obama's and Trump's federal enforcement of the "war on drugs" and local and federal policing is radically different is absurd

Not terrible, but not funny enough to be called a comedy and not clever enough to be a crime drama. Horrible pacing and editing, overall an ok movie that's understandably been lost to time. Really annoying over reliance on music, at least 2 times there would be a song with another like 30 seconds following it

Better than the average tv show, but that's not saying much. It's clear very early on, I'd say second or third season, the writers had no clue or plan where the show was going. It became similar to something like svu, violence for shock value and not for plot value. Plotlines and characters come in and out with little explanation, character motivations and actions seem outright stupid, and from season to season subtext and narrative change on a dime. Like I wrote its better than a lot of tv, but that isn't saying much.

I really like the film. Majority of the actors are top notch, the setting of an abandoned asylum is as close to perfect as you can get, the narrative is great, and I loved the audio design. Ultimately the major short comings of this film can be chalked up to the cinematography and the nephew actor is awful. I get it digital shooting is new and you wanted to advance it, but it just looks awful; especially on blu ray. The actors were really good, ive always liked the Scottish lead, and its crazy Carusso was idk exiled from acting or just decided he had enough of it. The nephew was bad unfortunately, considering how much you got from everyone else.

Fine, but too reminiscent of a what would be an extremely long episode of dateline or 48 hours. Throws out other possible suspects with some compelling evidence against them. Only to in the penultimate episode give you the definitive evidence the prosecution had the entire time that cleared them years ago. Does do a good job illustrating that both the prosecution team and defense team are scumbags, which is refreshing. Look at something like making a murderer; in it the defense is always portrayed as righteous defenders of justice and the prosecution always as overzealous monsters. I found it on max and it became clear within a few minutes this wasn't an hbo show, I'm guessing discovery. Cinematography was good, as with any documentary music was overly dramatic and manipulative, but the title cards looked cheap and dull. Like someone spent an afternoon throwing them together. Like I said it was ok, but unless you really have nothing else to watch or you just love murder mystery TV I would pass.

Better than most shows, but not by much. Sure the episode with nick Offerman or the one with Ellie's gf/best friend are fine they don't really elevate or forward the story in any meaningful way. I found most of the series boring, vapid, and meandering. People show up and dissappear every episode and I guess I'm just supposed to care about them or their archs because that's the show. The show doesn't give me a reason to care about either. Closer to a two than a four
