Jeez, everyone needs to lighten up! Sometimes directors and writers are just mucking about having fun, no serious agenda. There are plenty of moments where one of the female leads acts very ditsy, so I don’t think you can say only men are portrayed in a negative light. Chris Hemsworth is so silly in it, and quite funny if you have a sense of humour, that you could never take his role seriously. It’s called parody. I get that if you loved the original this may not work for you... but I never got into the original. I find the 3 female leads absolutely hilarious. They work together brilliantly. The film loses its way once the portal is opened- it is just too long and the final third takes things too far. It’s just a bit too far fetched. But I watched this film quite a lot of times to enjoy the camaraderie between the 3 women and Chris. Love it.
