Roy Davis was my 3rd great uncle. My 2nd great grandfather Ben Davis was his older brother. Ben died young in 1900 and most of the family didn't know much about the Davis side. We didn't know about all of this till I came across a website detailing it and then I found this book. It is a fascinating story and my 3rd great uncle was a swindler, a minister, and just about everything else. It would make for a great movie, I think. The author appears to have got most of his information from old newspaper articles which makes sense considering those who really knew anything are dead now. The only criticism I would have would be the last few sentences related to the JFK assassination didn't make sense in the context of the story and there is nothing to really link him to it so I would have just left the note about it in there, but not included it in the last few sentences. I would definitely recommend this book. Roy is also the 2nd great grandfather of the model Kate Upton. That was how I came across all of this was when I saw in an app that I was related to her and I didn't really know anything about her at the time.
