Wow! I am glad I did NOT see this in the theatre. What a disappointing and beautifully shot bore. “Trope Salad” should be the title. The mood is muddy and the point of any of these flat characters other than screen decor is beyond me. Sadly it’s not even bad enough to be funny/cult/troll 2 bad. Some of the worst cheesiest acting ever to Grace any screen. Maybe this cabal of interesting actors just wanted to have a paid for excuse to hang out - I don’t know but the product of their coming together for this one is an awkward dumpster fire — only, less entertaining than an actual dumpster fire.

The game is a beautiful mess. Fighting and turn based combat is so tedious. The world is not open as the advertisers led consumers to believe. Leveling characters up is absolutely a confusing time suck. Leveling also ads no value to the turn based combat. Equipping characters is difficult and confusing. There’s a ridiculously useless option to pick your avatars genitalia when creating your character. Hilariously unnecessary details promulgate throughout. The audio drops out in random places on the PS5 console. Messy maps that lead nowhere making movement with your party clunky and frustrating. Fast travel isn’t fast and being in camp with your character seems to serve very little purpose other than having characters stop whining. There is no option to invert your controls on PS5 (even with auto settings) accessible controls should not be optional in 2023. The only remedy is to take the automatic camera controls off to make it sort of less horrible to control movement. I definitely will never pre-Order another game this one was such a bait and switch.
