Anticipation for this film was rewarded with a pretty disappointing payoff. Despite a stellar cast and an award-winning director, much of the plot was presented in a pace that could have been much better managed. Romance sub-plots were often irrelevant and failed to add any weight to the more serious tone of the film or any of the character development arcs. I wasn't sure if the inclusion of a deaf and gay character was even necessary to the story arc, considering it served no purpose other than inclusion. Good effort on Marvel for this, though I felt both character traits could have been better leveraged to provide more character development narratives.

Poor flow in the plot with countless of loopholes left unexplained. Fundamental flaw in the theology (Main character being able to see a face of God) regarding the film's premise, though nothing wrong with the basic message behind it (that faith alone is insufficient if man doesn't exercise his own free will). If you come into this film looking for answers, you won't find any despite the relevant questions from the protangonist. Two stars for the acting alone, which Thwaites and Strathaim were brilliant in both their roles.
