I visited Kalgoorlie in 1999 and on my way back to Perth, stopped at that very same hotel for coffee. What an eerie place it is! We bolted when we saw the state of the coffee cups... The movie captures the essence of Coolgardie (and many remote little hamlets) very well. Truly a frightening movie and one has to wonder how the employment agency can continue to send young girls there.
