Real shame but this is absolute garbage compared to the first and second! The combat has 0 stakes as everyone that is important to the plot has invincibility. John gets beaten up in every single fight and yet still wins most of them as per the usual slop. All injuries always subside in the next scene or two. Constant self mutilation of all characters in main plot. Every character is always seriously injuring themselves to prove "loyalty". Self inflicted wounds always instantly heal and play no part in the story, which is infuriating. Another pact is made and another finger gone or red hot brand applied, this happens over and over and yet we never see any consequences for this. Characters are seriously unlikeable and make almost no sense. One of the main antagonists is completely blind and yet still gives John a run for his money in gunfights and hand to hand. You may think that perhaps the blind guy uses the dark to his advantage and that's how he can do literally anything against fully sighted trained killers......nope. Broad daylight or extremely well lit areas are where all of his fights occur. Writers are useless in this installment and should be sad with thus end product of themselves for lack of situational storytelling (or any storytelling for that matter). It's always, "ah...this happened...because.....well why not!?!" Or my favourite mindset as of late; "it's an action movie...none of this needs to make sense!". Of course it does. Just because this isn't Shakespeare doesn't mean all laws and rules for storytelling and fiction need not apply! Story wise without spoilers, John's arc that is established in 1 is not continued. In John Wick the original his whole character arc is that he needs to move on and learn to live without his wife. The first movie follows this nicely. Second movie is where this life outside of "The Table" is challenged and he is dragged back in, but he takes the fight to "The Table". Third movie pushes this further and makes it seem like he will need to kill the whole organisation in order to live free of his old life and move on. This 4th installment completely turns this on it's head and basically ruins this arc that has been building for 3 movies. More after spoiler warning. Spoilers ahead Okay, you have been warned! This installment turns his arc on its head and makes the case that he actually needs to die to leave his old life behind. So forget his wife's wishes for him to live a peaceful life without her I guess. Forget the dog he got in John Wick 1, after all, it's not like he massacred hundreds and hundreds of people to avenge his dog and wife's final wish. Forget the fight against "The Table" he has been waging since JW2. This movie basically makes it so that he should have just laid down and died with his wife in the first one! The icing on this human dirt flavoured cake is so annoying it actually made me write this review. John does not survive the duel with the blind man at the end...yep, you read that right. The 'unkillable' baba yaga chooses to die essentially so the stupid blind loser (that the writers made no effort to make likeable....at all) can get his twerp of a daughter back. That is also pointless as it is insinuated that he gets snuffed out too, right before he meets her, in end credits lol.

Don't bother with this one! *spoiler alert* It has a very silly plot that seems to mainly focus on teenage drama rather than zombies or anything you'd imagine when thinking of Resident Evil. The main two characters when young couldn't care less about their dad or his job etc so they just decide to break into his place of work to expose some animal testing bs as if consequences don't exist. Also umbrella in this universe has little to no security at all when the plot requires it, meaning two teenage girls are able to break in and essentially cause an outbreak with only a phone recording and some flashlights. The characters are very very dumb and the situations or moments of tension are all super manufactured and obvious. Wesker seemed like the only decent character. I have rarely disliked a main character as much so quickly in a show before but this is mainly because she is quite unrelatable and makes dumb decisions. The main character, jade, has plot armour like you wouldn't believe. At one point she just leaps off a three storey barricade/wall into the growing horde of zeds and is totally fine, leaves without a scratch ffs. She escapes umbrella multiple times even though she is always at a huge disadvantage because...plot I guess? Locations are pretty unmemorable. Are all the same locations used in modern disaster movies/shows or something, they all seem to take place in desert type back lots or something and they all merge together in my head. All in all, I couldn't make it past episode one without starting to skim past scenes that led nowhere or bored the pants off me. Turned it off after the end of episode two as it seemed to go nowhere fun or interesting. You might say I didn't give it a full chance but after my twenty seventh eye roll into episode two I think that's enough of my time wasted. Hopefully this review will save some others the waste of time and maybe it'll push writers/scum sites like netflix to do better.
