A couple reviews had me thinking this was supposed to be a documentary about Appalachia and was lacking for failing to describe the cultural layers and diversity of the region. What a bunch of nonsense. This is a good story about one guy, J. D., and his family and the struggle to move up the socioeconomic ladder in America. It’s a story that should be better understood and more often successful if we want our country to thrive. Very good movie. Well worth the time to watch it.
