I wanted to like this book but it was so repetitive and frustratingly slow to develop. I found myself skipping pages to get to the point of some chapters. I found the characters predictable and trite. I doubt I would normally have finished it but I was home sick with the flu.

This seems sòooo similar to the Throne of Glass series without the character development or originality. I have to question where the authors source of inspiration came from. I did find myself rereading Sarah Maas Throne of Glass series again as a result of trying to read this book. Love TOG as much as I did 6 years ago. For some better writing and deeper characters read Sarah Mass.
