Watched Sam Bahadur (Manekshaw) today.
It is a very badly directed film.
They have also denigrated Pt Nehru and Indira Gandhi and shown them in poor light - by casting poor actors in their role. Both Pt Nehru and Indira Gandhi were larger than life figures. Then the dialogue “Why arms were not bought to face the Chinese”! The Director doesn’t realise what problems Pandit ji was facing soon after independence. We had no money to buy arms. We had more burning problems.
Director has tried to gain viewers kudos - civilians who know nothing about the wars and not much about the Army.
Director has relied more on the flamboyancy of Sam Manekshaw and “File videos” from the “Library” than anything else.
I had to keep sitting throughout due to family considerations.
(If I remember correctly in one shot modern Royal Enfield was shown).
Some of the actions of Sam in this movie were overdone.
