Just watched an episode where a young lady claimed to be walking in the street with her dog on a leash. A neighbor had two dogs behind his fenced in yard. She claimed that she never let the dog off the leash, and that the mans pit bull mix managed to climb over a 7ft fence. His brother claimed that her small dog entered is front yard and went under his fence. Needless to say the smaller dog got hurt to the amount of 3K, Judge showed her biased against pit bulls and awarded the lady the money. From my years in rescue, I have never seen a dog climb a 7ft fence, 4 ft yes, but not 7 ft. I have neighbors, on both sides of me that allow their dogs to come over to my fence line EVERYDAY and taunt my dogs. My one dog actually tore his ACL and meniscus. Costing me 4K. Of course if we were in this courtroom, the Judge would have sided against me, just because my dog is half pit. I have you know the only dog I have ever been bot by, is a chihuahua. Stop inserting your biases into these cases, Not all stereotypical breed are bad dogs. The lady was wrong for allowing her dog to walk freely and enter the mans yard, At the very least she should have been held to half the blame.
