I didn’t know what to expect 10 minutes in, when I started to realise that the entire film might be contained within the emergency call centre and the tension that builds is tangible and suspenseful. Once you have got to grips with the fact you’re in for a claustrophobic thriller you can get on with appreciating Asger’s predicament.
Without giving too much away, the viewer is drawn in breathlessly, with clues as to Asger’s own personal issues, having been demoted to call centre after a misdemeanour as a police officer, and you can sympathise with the worrying “thread” of conversations between Asger and Iben who has been kidnapped and with her daughter at home. When the story plays out you learn more about the situation and whilst i wouldn’t exactly describe this film as “enjoyable” since that doesn’t really cover the emotions experienced while watching it, it is definitely a very interesting one and well worth the mere 88 minutes of film time.
Very well written and well acted by a skeleton cast, holding the viewer’s attention from beginning to end. Highly recommended.
