Having read the book by Lucy M. Montgomery, I am utterly disappointed by this TV version. There is only one little bit of the story actually covered in the book and everything else is striving to be politically correct, introducing gay rights, same sex couples, and the like, which is a good cause per se, but in my humble opinion entirely corrupts the original idea of the authoress. On the bright side, the costumes are really good, the actors' performance is beautiful but eventually the show left a strong bitter taste of disappointment in my mouth. I really wouldn't recommend this show to anyone who has ever read the book. There is no comparison. It's not even close.
