A little above average, made for mass consumption american series. Good group of actors who could have been given some better writing to work with to avoid it being mildly predictable. I think audiences deserve shows that they don't know what the character is going to say next. The only sour note is the police chiefs role. Wow! Enough said.

This could have been pretty decent, we're it in hour long episodes and less predictable acting. The storyline ought to be more gripping, edge of your seat, yet just the wrong collection of actors. Pretty mediocre and sure don't wait with baited breath for a mere half hour episode a week

I hate that saying "I really wanted to love it"... yet it sadly applies. Despite the jarring time jumps back and forth, it managed to be predictable. Even down to the unlikable selfish Almut. Absent in the story beyond a vague presence, the little daughter. Perhaps I wasn't in the best mindset and felt a little jaded and hoped to lose myself in a romantic, if tragic love story. Sigh..... I really wanted to like this. Game of Thrones did such a good job making you want to miss the next episode. Something new and characters that weren't boring or predictable. There are some very good actors in this show while others leave me scratching my head why they were cast in the sort of drama. I don't like to pick on actors but Olivia Cooke is sweet and all but she's the same in everything she plays, lacking I guess the ability to "reach". Not sure what it is but isn't convincing at all in this kind of drama. Milly Alcocks character started out with much promise, as the show seemed to want to lean on it's female characters, but the writing didn't suss out her role beyond being a dumb slave to her uncles perverse desires. So many missed opportunities to steer the story but it tripped and fell flat. So I saved season 1 for a dry period when nothing else was going on entertainment wise and now season 2. Yup, it gets worse. There's no one character to root for and most you dislike in a bland way. The only surprising thing is just how uninteresting it gets. Won't even make it to my "whenever nothing else is on" list

What to what when waiting for a new episode of your favorite show. I tried to like it but it's just plain bad. It's as if it they took a true crime and built a series around as many clichés as possible. This could have been so much better.

It kills the time but if you're into good acting... this show has little. I suspect the actors aren't so much to blame but the writing and direction. Joel Kinnaman, Mireille, Michelle Forbes and Brent Sexton have all had much better roles in their careers and this sure wasn't their finest. Beats me why there's so many rave reviews. Lowered expectations I guess

This was brilliant, second or third veiwing years after seeing it when it was released. Probably one of the best performances from either actor I've seen from either actor over the years. Don't make the mistake of thinking it's simply about revenge, but more about the psychological damage girls experience receiving disturbing attention from men at disturbingly young ages. Believe me, they are out there and it doesn't even take overt physical action to warp little girls veiw of the world around her for the rest of her life. The hungry eyes of men who would even look at children with "inappropriate" thoughts.... Kids know!! Maybe not what specifically but they know that wrong feeling slink across their skin and it changes them. Don't think any film has touched on this subject in such a pure, raw way. It speaks strongly about how once a person is aware of the predators out there they can't stop seeing them. You can't.

It's rare you see a film and hope the wife chokes on her own vomit early in the movie. Great acting on her part. Thoroughly dislikable characters and I'm trying to decide whether to pack it in on this one. Great way to make sex look boring and predictable. Can't get inspired to pay attention to the story line. Perhaps because we've lived through the past few years in a world that seems fueled by hate, I don't want to watch a film driven by an urge to hate a thoroughly despicable wife. Where are my rose colored glasses?
