A movie rich in human emotions, very well portrayed. The truth is spoken and is heartbreaking. Anthony Hopkins played an amazing "grandfather" however, all characters were exceptional. This movie encompasses so much. A story about racism, a boy growing up with an atypical but beautiful friendship, for the time. Seeing the difference in the lifestyles between the two friends, parents who love their children, but make mistakes (Screaming, belt beating and lack of support). Strong grandparent influence. The world as it was and a family trying to understand, learn and grow.
