I loved this game!! Managed to get through 100% of everything, and it was a magical experience from the smallest Easter egg details to the vastness of the main quest. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is because after completing everything on all 4 houses, I didn't have any motivation to keep playing. If there was only additional content like a online quidditch league to play with others, design brooms, practice moves you would see in the moves like flips and hanging off the broom, and more.
I also wish there was more to each of the side quests. Some of the quests felt way too long like the boring task ones that made you run all the way across the map with little reward or the Merlin trials. But then others I wanted much more of, like the Poppy and Natsai quest lines. Because one of the coolest moments in the game apart from the very well made main quest was the poacher cinematics and the dragons. It was breathtaking the amount of detail they put into the dragons and the story felt just like something from the actual lore. Kind of had Fantastic Beasts vibes to it and I really enjoyed those simply because I love magical beasts.
Which brings me to the last let down. And that was the finite-ness of the magical beasts aspect of the game. Don't get me wrong, the room of requirement and vivariums blew my mind, especially since you had complete creative control over the appearance. But like I said, there was little motivation to keep playing and doing things with it after I did everything you could with the vivariums. I loved that you could spend hours just watching the sunset and relaxing with your magical creature friends, but wish you could do more. Like set up new nests, have additional quests having to do with the magical creatures, and maybe more classes that had more story to them.
I wish you could keep going to classes after you beat the game, and keep living your Hogwarts life....like randomized classes you could attend. Or saving more beasts from poachers. And having an extended story to go with that.
Now with all that said I do realize that this game was in high demand and the team was working especially hard to get the game out as fast as possible. Plus I can understand not wanting to put thousands of hours of work for extra content into the game when they weren't sure if it was going to do well especially with all of the crazy controversy news surrounding it. Obviously since it did phenomenally well with sales reaching record heights, they will probably be working on additional content. But with all the crazy feuding and toxic aspects surrouding Hogwarts/HP universe content, it will probably be a while.
I'm just holding out my hope for quidditch because that would keep bringing me back for more to be able to either play co-op with friends through the game, or to play in a quidditch league.
